About Accurate

Your Trusted Full-Service Water Works Company

Where It All Began

In August of 1988, Dayne and Jamie Burson started Accurate Meter & Backflow out of a simple conviction: there was a better way to serve the people keeping Texas water flowing.

Dayne had grown up around the industry — working for Jamie’s father, who operated water districts across the region. Somewhere between mowing the grounds at water plants and talking shop with fellow employees, he spotted a gap nobody was filling: reliable testing and repair of water meters. The timing wasn’t easy, but the vision was clear. They stepped out on faith and built something from scratch.

For the first 25 years, they built something quiet and lasting — deep expertise, trusted relationships, and a reputation for showing up when it mattered. Then in 2012, Accurate Utility Supply was born, and everything accelerated. Several of Dayne and Jamie’s children joined the business, bringing new energy, ideas, and longterm vision that helped transform Accurate into a rapidly growing organization. In 2014, Accurate became a distributor for Badger Meter, marking another major turning point in the company’s growth and positioning Accurate as a leader in smart water metering technology across Texas. Today, the company is focused on expanding its presence, growing its geographical footprint, and continuing to build on the foundation that started with a small family business nearly four decades ago.

A Business Built on Belief

Accurate was never just about meters and pipes. It was about proving that a family-owned company could out-serve, out-care, and out-last the bigger players — by doing things the right way, every single time. That standard hasn’t changed.

Our History

Accurate Meter & Backflow is founded.

In August of 1988, Dayne and Jamie Burson stepped out on faith and started Accurate Meter & Backflow out of their home in Houston. With Jamie six months pregnant with their third child, the timing wasn't perfect — but the conviction was. They saw a need nobody else was filling, and they built something to fill it.

Accurate Utility Supply is born.

After nearly 25 years of earning trust in the field, Accurate entered the supply business — and everything changed. With an established customer base and a reputation built the right way, Accurate quickly became the full-service alternative to the big players who had stopped earning their customers' loyalty.

An official Badger Meter partnership is established.

Dayne flew to Milwaukee on a Sunday night with a plan and a timer on his phone. What started as a cold walk-in turned into one of the most defining partnerships in Accurate's history — an authorized Badger Meter distributorship that gave the team capabilities their competitors simply couldn't match.
